The Deer Park Youth Basketball League (DPYBL) is a member of the Cincinnati Premier Youth Basketball League, which works with local communities and organizations to provide the best possible basketball experience for youth in the Greater Cincinnati area. The mission of DPYBL is to provide a positive environment for quality recreation and skill development in the game of basketball for all youth that reside in the Deer Park school district, grades 1-6. Sports provide a fantastic educational experience, as they can teach important values for dealing with life's situations. The values taught through sports include teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, dedication, commitment, loyalty, responsibility, integrity, as well as working towards a goal, regardless of the outcome.

 
Grades 1-2

1st and 2nd grade will remain in Deer Park, with the purpose of introducing players to the game of basketball. Players will learn the basic fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, passing and shooting. The games for this age level are referred to as a "Showcase". The teams will have approximately five Showcases throughout the season. These Showcases will have (4) 5 minute quarters, where they will be able to use the skills they have learned during practice.

Grades 3-6

Grades 3-6 teams will play local teams throughout the Cincinnati Premier Youth Basketball League. Teams are organized by grade. The option of "playing up" will be at the discretion of the board, and will depend on the number of players signed up for the child's current grade and the next grade.

Grades 4-6: In the event we have enough players to form two teams for a grade level, we reserve the right to hold evaluations. Evaluations help the board members ensure each child is placed on a team that will maximize their learning experience to help them excel in the game of basketball.
